Altarage, Alterage, n. Also: altaraige; alteradge, -agh, -ige; altrage, -adge; ault(e)rage. [med.L. altaragium, f. altare altar. Also in Eng. from 17th c. ME. had auter-, awterage after OF. auterage.] The endowment or revenues of a particular altar; the right to these on the part of an ecclesiastic.(a) 1446 Reg. Cupar A. I. 125.
