1. intr. To rule or govern. —1567 Acts III. 13/2 (he is not of habilitie to administrate).

2. tr. To administer. —1563 Acts II. 535/1 (administrat the sacramentis). 1581 Hamilton Cath. Tr. 37 b (admenistratit his sacrament). 1649 Aberd. B. Rec. 94 (did administrat justice).
