Ȝistrene, Ȝestrene, Ȝestrewine, adv. (n.). Also: ȝystrewine, -ewen, ȝisterevin, ȝestrewen, yesterevin, ȝistrein, -eyn, yistrein, -en, yestren(e, -ein, -een, ȝeistr-, yeistrein, -eyn, the strene, -streen, this strene. [North. late ME ȝhistrewyn (a1400), yistrevyn (c1440), ȝistreuen (c1450); f. ȝister, as in Ȝisterday, -nicht, with Evin n.1, Ene n. The streen and the (this) strene seem to have arisen from an erroneous analysis of the first element.]
