TULLY, n. A broad board attached to a long pole inside a chimney, which swings about according to the direction of the wind to prevent a downdraught of smoke, a windskew (Abd.4 1929).

[Nonce variant and extension of Eng. dolly, a stick or paddle for stirring clothes in a wash-tub or similar purposes, which it resembles.]
