TAM, n. A heap or small mound or hillock, gen. in comb. yirdi(e) tam, yerdy-, a farm compost heap of soil and weeds (Abd. 1972). See Yird.Abd. 1906 J. Christie Drachlaw Revisited 5:
There's the dam Aboon which I spread a “Yirdie Tam.”
Abd. 1949 Buchan Observer (8 Nov.):
A top-dressing of farmyard, or compost heap manure, known as “yirditam.”
