Stoat-weasels, in diminishing numbers, still hold their ground.
n.Sc. 1958 Scotsman (17 Feb.) 3:
In my part of the country, the name “stoat-weasel” is far more frequently used than the simple name “stoat.”
m.Sc. 1968 Scotsman (30 Nov.) Suppl. 5:
