SKUTFAST, n. A rope or cable from the stern by which a boat is tied to the shore or can ride at anchor (Sh. 1908 Jak. (1928), 1914 Angus Gl., Sh.1970). Also used as a v., to moor a boat (Sh. 1970). [′skʊtfast]
