PEEVER, n.2 A very small marble (Fif. c.1850 R. Peattie MS.; ne.Sc., Fif. 1965).Ags. 1934 G. M. Martin Dundee Worthies 177:
The “Mappy” was a size between the “bool” [¾ inch diameter] and the “Doe” [1½ to 3 inches diameter] made of a finer earth, whilst the “Peever” was a miniature of the “Mappie” and usually had a crude design in colour on its exterior.
