MUMMIE, n.1 A pet-name for a grandmother (Mry.1 1925). In 1768 quot. of any old woman, “grannie”. See Momie and cf. Eng. mummie, mother.Abd. 1768 A. Ross Helenore (S.T.S.) 65:
