MANNO, n. Also mano. A big man, in contradistinction to mannie, the diminutive (Abd. 1825 Jam.).ne.Sc. 1792 Trans. Soc. Antiq. Scot. I. 418:
Nor were the Scots entirely without augmentatives. These were formed by adding . . . o to substantives; as, . . . heado, mano.
