GUCKIT, adj. Foolish, silly, giddy (Sc. 1808 Jam.). Cf. Gowkit.Ags. Ib.:
In this sense it is often applied to young women, who are light in their carriage. A guckit quean.

[O.Sc. has gukkit, guckit, id., from c.1450, prob. from guk, a mocking term, or guk, to talk or behave foolishly, both of which however are recorded later.]
