GLOM, n. Also glome, gloam. [glo:m] A fishermen's tabu-name or sea-term for the moon (Sh. 1866 Edm. Gl., gloam, 1908 Jak. (1928)). Also deriv. glo(a)mer (Sh. 1910 Old-Lore Misc. III. i. 39). Cf. glintie s.v. Glint.
