BUISE, n. In phr. to shoot the buise, “seems synon. with the cant E[ng.] term, to swing, i.e. to be hanged” (Sc. 1808 Jam.).

[Phs. buise is a variant of Buist, n.1, 1 and 2. Cf. slang Eng. kick the bucket.]
