Bluchans, little salt-water fish, about the size of Burn trouts.
s.Sc. 1887 Jam.6:
Bluchans, name given to those small fish which children catch in rock pools in the South of S[cotland].
Dmf. 1934 (per Gall.2):
Bluchan means lythe or saithe.
