BITLAG, n. (See quot.) [′bɪ̢̈tləg]Cai. 1914 T.S.D.C. I. 21:
Bitlag. A hard round stone as distinguished from that of a slaty structure. A worthy elder of the Auld Kirk used to bemoan that he and his had hearts as hard as bitlags.
