BAYOO, BEYO, n. A long-handled scythe. [′baiʊ]Ork. 1920 J. Firth Reminisc. Ork. Par. (1922) 113:
The hay cutting was done with a long-handled scythe or a “bayoo,” which too had a long handle, but a broad short blade resembling the wing of a bird. From this resemblance the bayoo was sometimes called the “corbie wing” (raven).

Beyo, kind of scythe, with short, broad blade.
