Troup(e, Troop(e, Trip(e, n. Also: troupt, trowp(e, trowpt, trup, truipt, trype. [ME and e.m.E. trip (Manning), tryppe (a1400), trippe (c1410), troupe (1545), troope (1584), F. troupe, OF trope, late L. troppus.]
