Kid, n. Also: kidd(e, kyd, kyd(d)e, kaid. [ME. (? orig. east midl. and north.) kide (Orm), kidde, kydde, kid (14th c.), ked(e (15th c.), appar. ON. kið (Sw., Da. kid).An apparent early example is the place-name Kydelauuecrofth, 1200–2 Liber Calchou 115.]
