Hap, v.1 [Northern and midl. ME. happe, hap (a 1300), Of unknown derivation.] tr. To cover over or up; esp., to cover or wrap (a person), with clothing etc., against the cold or weather; to tuck up (in bed). Also fig.(1) a1400 Leg. S. xxv. 437.
